Equipment Specifications

The minimum computer requirements after enrolling in a CDI course are as follows:

  • IBM compatible Computer with AMD or Pentium Processor, 800 MHz or faster, or Apple Power Macintosh G3
  • Windows 2000/XP - Home or Professional version
  • Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 3.0 (Internet Explorer 8 Beta is not supported)
  • 256 MB of Ram minimum
  • CD-ROM
  • Minimum 56 kbps V.92 (DSL or Cable preferred)
  • Video display capable of High Color 16 bit display
  • A sound card and speakers are required for some courses.
  • Current anti-virus software must be installed and kept up to date.
  • Some classes may have specific class requirements for additional software. These requirements will be listed on the course offerings page.

    At a minimum, you may be required to have Microsoft Office 2003 XP or 2007 or OpenOffice (Free) and the most current version of:

Student discounts may be available for Microsoft Office products and other software in the campus book stores.

Students are responsible for their own software and equipment maintenance.

*NOTE* Microsoft Vista and the Linux operating systems may be compatible with the Distance Learning Center web site, however at this time we do not offer any technical support for these operating systems.
